A deliberative assembly is an organization, comprising members who use parliamentary procedure for making decisions.
Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised (RONR) describes certain characteristics of a deliberative assembly, such as each member having an equal vote and the fact that the group meets to determine courses of action to be taken in the name of the entire group.1 A deliberative assembly may have different classes of members. Common classes are voting members (also known as regular members), who have the right to vote, ex-officio members, and honorary members.
A committee is a type of small deliberative assembly that is subordinate to another deliberative assembly.
